Coldridge Arms – Friday 8th May

‘The Coldridge Arms’ will be opening its doors again on Friday 8th May at 7pm, and as ever all are welcome to drop by and join-us on the night to savour something from our licenced bar (either alcoholic or non-alchoholic) accompanied by some bar snack favourites and/or ice creams!

The LED lit dart board will be available for a spontaneous competition but if that’s not your ‘cup of tea’ we’re always keen on having a go with BYO games to create a fun evening with friends.

All are welcome, so come along and join us in a relaxing evening with friends old and new. Card & Cash accepted.

We look forward to seeing you on Friday 8th!

Gardening Club – Monday 11th May

Our May Club meeting sees the return of speaker Caradoc Doy. In ‘Plant Hunters & Pioneers’ we’ll hear a brief history of the remarkable Veitch family nursery of Exeter and Chelsea, which sent twenty-three plant collectors to numerous countries – mainly during the Victorian period.

The presentation highlights some of the well-known and interesting varieties introduced by these pioneering plant hunters who discovered many hundreds of new species. So successful were they that there is scarcely a garden in the British Isles that does not contain a plant derived from their introductions.

Find out more on Monday, 11th May at 7.30pm in the Village Hall. Non-members are very welcome (£3).

Everyone is welcome to join Coldridge Gardening Club – a family membership is only £15 for the year. Keep an eye out for news of upcoming events on all the usual village channels. If you are not (yet!) a member of the Coldridge Gardening Club, and would like to see what it’s all about, please drop us a line on coldridgegardeningclub@ecomail.uk for more details.

Welcome to the new Coldridge Village Hall website!

On behalf of the Coldridge Village Hall Committee I am pleased to announce the launch of our new Village Hall Website – www.coldridgevillagehall.org.uk .

This website is intended provide a ‘shop window’ for all things relating to Coldridge Village Hall, with information about the hall, the groups who use it, its facilities, Village Hall events and the services available to Coldridge residents.

The Coldridge Village Hall website is intended to run alongside the monthly Coldridge Calendar, our “What’s on in Coldridge Devon” Facebook community page and the Coldridge Parish Website.

The website is newly constructed and as such, like housetraining a new puppy, there may be a few initial upsets or desirable improvements that could be made. So, if you have a moment in the coming days please grab a ‘hot beverage’, click-on the new Village Hall link and have a look around the site. If there’s something you’re not sure about, or if you would like to share any observations or suggestions for improvements please drop me a line at cvhwadmin@coldridgevillagehall.org.uk.

My thanks to the Village Hall Committee Officers, our Village Hall User Group representatives and other content providers for their support and assistance in getting us here today.
