Crib School

Save the date – The Coldridge Village Hall Social Group led by our very own Card-Master Andy Fitch will be hosting a ‘Crib School’ on Thursday 18th April, starting at 7.30pm in the Village Hall.

The evening will commence with a brief introduction to the game’s fundamentals, i.e card protocol, dealing, points scoring, use of the crib board and of course “one for his knob”. We will then run through a few mock hands, when we will introduce some of the strategies and dos and don’ts of the game and touch on pairs playing (4 players). Finally, we will play a few hands.

We can’t guarantee you will become a master in one evening, but you will certainly know how to play.

If you are already an accomplished player, you are welcome to attend as help with instruction would be greatly appreciated. Or, if you ‘play a bit’ but want to brush up your skills, come along and enjoy the evening, …and of course the bar will be open to provide the brain enhancing refreshment!

SPECIAL TREAT: If all goes to plan and the night is young, we may also have time to explain the basics of another traditional pub game, 5s and 3s Dominoes, which also uses a crib board for keeping score.
